Dear Plasma Spectroscopist,
We look forward to welcoming you to the European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry 2013 in Krakow and sincerely hope that you are going to enjoy not only the good science but also the social events and outstanding atmosphere of Krakow.
We hope that all the practical details of your trip have already been finalized including a confirmation of your hotel booking in Krakow. Our conference venue, the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University, is located within walking distance from all the hotels proposed on our internet page; please consult it to check the best itinerary to get there. The registration will start on Sunday, February 10th at 1 pm and the short courses at 2 pm followed by the Opening session at 5 pm.
February in Krakow is usually cold with ca. -5 to -15 °C with possible snow. We strongly advise you to bring warm cloths including gloves, a scarf and a cap or bonnet. You will also need winter waterproof boots, especially for the guided Old City Tour on Wednesday morning. The gentlemen participating at the Gala Dinner are encouraged to wear a jacket and tie.

Due to many question concerning the dress code at Gala Dinner we would like gentlemen to be encouraged to wear a jacket and a tie.

The electronic registration for short-courses is closed. Last-minute short course enrollment is possible only by e-mail to the Conference Office. Please, include your registration number into the e-mail body.
All participants who ordered and payed for poster printing service are kindly requested to e-mail their posters (in pdf) till February 6, 2013.

As the Conference Office has received many requests, it was decided to open the LAST MINUTE POSTER ABSTRACT SUBMISSION through the on-line registration site. Please notice, that the final deadline for the last minute poster abstract submission is November 30, 2012.

Due to the very high number of demands for oral presentations, the authors of the accepted papers are kindly requested to proceed with the payment
of the registration fee thus confirming their attendance. If the payment is not received until 20.12.2012, the acceptance for an oral presentation will be cancelled (the paper will be converted into a poster) in favour of the papers from the complementary waiting list.
The above information will be send to authors also individually by e-mail.

The 2013 Plasma Award winner is Norbert Jakubowski from the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM, Berlin,
Germany). The prize will be presented during the conference Opening ceremony on Sunday, February 10th 2013 afternoon and the Awardee will give a lecture highlighting his research.

The Conference Office would like to announce that the deadline for the abstract submission was postponed to October 15, 2012. Moreover, abstract submission for poster presentation only is also possible till October 30, 2012.

The accommodation details have been published on the Conference website. Some rooms have been booked for the participants of EWCPS 2013 in selected hotels under the conditions specified below.
Reservation should be made in a chosen hotel giving the password “EWCPS 2013”.
In order to make the hotel reservation, please contact the hotel directly (until the indicated deadline).

We would like to inform that the deadline for the nomination/application for The European Award for Plasma Spectrochemistry was moved to September 30, 2012.

The On-line registration is open.
The registration is coordinated by the Jagiellonian University Events Office.
All participants of the Conference must be registered. The registration can only be made on-line at this site.
All registered participants will receive by e-mail a confirmation of their registration with login, password and reference number for identification purposes within the Conference. After logging into the registration account participants can check all information regarding the status of their registration.
All payments must be made in Polish Zloty (PLN). Payments can be made only after registration by credit card on-line or bank. You will find all the specific details during the registration process.
Registration will be considered complete and valid upon reception of the full payment of fees.

Dear Plasma Spectroscopists,
It is my pleasure to announce the call for nominations and applications for the 2013 European Award for Plasma Spectrochemistry, sponsored by the Agilent Technologies. The prize, which promotes analytical plasma spectrochemical developments and applications in Europe, will be presented at the European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry in Cracow, Poland on February 10, 2013.
The European Award for Plasma Spectrochemistry is awarded for a single outstanding piece of work or for continued important contributions in the field. The previous laureates include: Detlef Guenther (2003), Jean-Michel Mermet (2005), Klaus Heumann (2007), Annemie Bogaerts (2009), Frank Vanhaeke and Alfredo Sanz-Medel (jointly in 2011).

The nominations/applications should be submitted before August 10, 2012.
