We would like to inform that Joanna Szafraniec was awarded by Women Science Foundation in “Innovation is a women” competition for the invention of the biocompatible nanocapsules for controlled delivery of lipophilic drugs.

The workshop on Polymeric Nanostructural Systems took place on 29 of November 2013 at the Faculty of Chemistry of Jagiellonian University. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation and associate the research carried out by the contributing scientific groups. During the meeting lectures were given by our special guest Prof. Bogusław Tomanek (Department of Clinical Neurosciences and also by dr hab. Anna Karewicz (Jagiellonian University UJ), dr Dorota Lachowicz (University of Science and Techology AGH), dr Magdalena Staszewska ( University of Science and Techology AGH). Young researchers had an opportunity of presenting the results of their work during the poster session. The meeting was financed by the FOKUS project within the Marian Smoluchowski Consortium "Matter-Energy-Future," which has the status of the National Leading Research Centre (KNOW).

Silver-based antybacterial hybrid material developed in our group won in the category "Medical Innovations" in the national "Focus Lens" competition organized by Focus journal. Link to the award ceremony: LINK

Novel antimicrobial plastic Tarnamid? T-27 AM produced by Grupa Azoty S. A. with antybacterial additive developed in our group was awarded Gold Medal in the category "plastics and auxiliary materials for plastics processing" during 19th International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASTPOL, Poland.

The workshop on Suspension-designing,synthesis, properties, applications (SUSPENS) took place on 25 of November 2015 at the Faculty of Chemistry of Jagiellonian University. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation and associate the research carried out by the contributing scientific groups. It brought also an opportunity for training of young scientists interested in polymeric nanostructures. During the meeting the lectures were given by eminent professors: Prof. Andreas Taubert (University of Potsdam), Prof. Zbigniew Adamczyk (Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków). Also our team members were given lectures: Phd. Mariusz Kępczyński and Phd. Magdalena Wytrwał. After all of the presentations young researchers had opportunity of presenting the results of their work during the poster session. The meeting was financed by the FOKUS project within the Marian Smoluchowski Consortium "Matter-Energy-Future," which has the status of the National Leading Research Centre (KNOW).

The YES Fifth Workshop of Young Scientistsengaged in polymer science – YES2014 has been organized jointly by the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences, Lodz (Poland) under the auspices of European Polymer Federation. The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in. The aim of the YES Workshop was to bring together the small group of outstanding young scientists working in the field of polymer chemistry and to create a venue for their scientific presentations, discussions, exchanges of ideas, and also to create atmosphere helping them to establish a friendly group of the future leaders in their area of research.
