Crystal Structure-Oriented Powder Diffractometry Group
Faculty of Chemistry Jagiellonian University

X-ray diffraction is one of the most powerful techniques of the characterisation of solid materials. Although single-crystal X-ray diffraction is commonly used, a great number of materials such as pharmaceuticals, catalysts, pigments crystallise only as conglomerate of very small crystallites and their crystallographic studies may be carried out only on powder samples.

Synthesis of new compounds with tailored properties and crystal-structure determination from powder-diffraction data are the main research interests of our group.
