The
laboratory is generaly directed towards
research and didactics purposes, nevertheless
analyses for the needs of other units of Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University are also performed
The
laboratory classes are dedicatedto third-year chemistry
students in the framework of the Chemical Analysis
course
Apart
from that studies for master and doctoral theses
within the general subjects given below are also realised in the
Laboratory for Analytical Atomic Spectrometry.
- preparation
and evaluation of new sorbents for selective preconcentration of heavy
metal ions via flow injection technique and their subsequent
determination with the use of flame atomic absorption spectrometry technique
- plant analysis (co-operation with Institute of Plant Physiology Polish Academy of Science Krakow) and human
biological materials analysis towards heavy metals and their influence
on life functions or their toxicological and pathological aspects (in
co-operation with Collegium Medicum, Jagiellonian University)
- monitoring of technetium in environment with the ICP-MS determination (co-operation with Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Science Krakow)
Apparatus:
- Flame atomic absorption spectrometers
