Invitation for the 2nd European Variety in Chemistry Education in 2007
We would like to invite academic teachers, researchers as well as doctoral students to the 2nd European Variety in Chemistry Education to be held 27-30 June 2007 in Prague, Czech Republic. The Conference takes place at the Masarykova kolej, Thákurova 1, 160 41, Praha 6.

Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University invited
doctoral students, researchers and academic teachers to participate in
the international conference European Variety in Chemistry Education -
The conference was held in Kraków, Poland from 4
to 7 July 2005.
The Royal Society of Chemistry Tertiary
Education Group was acting as conference advisor.
The conference, which was a European counterpart of the UK conference
"Variety in Chemistry Education", was devoted to practical
aspects of chemical education at tertiary (university) level.
It provided a forum for the exchange of ideas related to teaching and
learning chemistry at degree level, the sharing of good practice and
innovation, and the dissemination of outcomes of pedagogic research as
it relates to chemistry at university level in Europe.
The conference hold 89 representatives from 21 countries: United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, The Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro.
The conference comprised 6 plenary lectures given by the experts in the field of chemical education, 39 oral communications and 35 posters. Moreover the participation had an opportunity to take part in one of the three workshops.

As you may know the origins of the predecessors of this journal lie in the desire to publish to the wider academic community the work of people presenting their innovations and researches at meetings, in the case of University Chemistry Education, the Variety in Chemistry Teaching meetings that have been an annual feature of the UK scene for the past 15 years. We wish to maintain this tradition and will be very happy to put together a special, European Variety in Chemistry Education issue of CERP based on papers or lectures presented at the Krakow meeting, if sufficient contributions will be available. You are cordially invited to submit your contribution by the end of December 2005 for consideration for such an issue.[...]
