Nanotechnology of Polymers and Biomaterials Group (NPB) headed by prof. Szczepan Zapotoczny is involved in research of advanced polymeric and hybrid materials for nanotechnology, medicine and environmental protection. The research is carried out within six subunits under a direct supervision of the Associate or Assistant Professors being a group members.

Molecular modelling of surfactant bilayers – Dr. Dorota Jamróz – leader

♦ interaction of small molecules of biological interest with surfactant or lipid bilayers
♦ parametrization of the force field for functional groups which are common constituents of ionic surfactants
Materials for controlled drug delivery – Dr. hab. Anna Karewicz – leader
♦ charged liposomes as carriers for biologically active molecules
♦ hydrogel micospheres of films from natural biocompatible polymers for sustained and/or controlled release of drugs
♦ stimuli-responsive polymers for controlled drug delivery and tissue engineering
