The city has direct train links to Berlin, Budapest, Hamburg, Prague, Vienna, and to Polish cities (Bia³ystok, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kielce, Koszalin, Lublin, £ód¼, Olsztyn, Opole, Poznań, Rzeszów, Szczecin, Warszawa, Wroc³aw, Zielona Góra).

The John Paul II International Airport Kraków - Balice is the second Polish airport in terms of size and number of passengers. It has direct connections to a number of European airports, including transfer airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and Warsaw. Other direct connections are to: Dublin, Bristol, Vienna, Berlin, Liverpool, Florence, Leeds, Stuttgart, Brussels, Bologna, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Helsinki, Madrid, Moscow, Rome, Zurich, Lviv, Oslo, Stockholm, Vilnius, Hamburg, Pisa, Budapest, Belfast, Alicante. Krakow public transport provides a bus service from/to the airport to/from the city centre. Bus stops are located near T1 and T2 terminals. The lines 208 and 292 operate during day while 902 during night. Trains run between the airport and the main railway station. Their run every half hour from 4am until 12p.m.  The platform is about 200 meters from the terminal. Free shuttle bus connects terminals with the platform.
